Jerry Junior Metcalf, 75, passed away at his home on Giles Road Wednesday, January 17, 2018, under Hospice care. He was a Davidson County native, born June 23, 1942, the son of the late Bill and Blanche Blanton Metcalf. Also preceding him in death were a son, Jerry Dale Metcalf; a daughter, Penny Hopson; and a brother, Terry Metcalf.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Margaret B. Lanier Metcalf; one son, Billy Scott Metcalf of Lexington; a daughter, Sarah Annette Stoops of Mocksville; two brothers, Bob Metcalf (Carlie) of Altanta, and Larry Metcalf (Donnie) of Denton; two sisters, Marie Crisp (Buddy) of Fancy Gap, VA, and Hazel Jones (Paul) of Lexington; seven grandchildren: Phillip Thompson, Teresa Darnell, Amy, Brittany and Christy Metcalf, and Searah and Allissa Stoops; plus seven great grandchildren.

Prior to retirement, Mr. Metcalf was owner/operator of Davidson Grading & Hauling Company for 20 years. His joy in life was his family, especially his wife and the grandchildren. He was also a sportsman who enjoyed hunting.   

There will be a time of visitation from 6-8 PM Monday, January 22, in the chapel of Davie Burial & Cremation Service of Lexington. The Celebration of Life Service will be conducted in the chapel at 2:00 PM Tuesday with Pastor Tim Sink officiating. Interment will follow in the North Lexington Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to help offset final expenses be directed to Davie Burial & Cremation Service, 1403 S. Main St., Lexington, NC 27292 which is serving the Metcalf family.
