Gregory Lawrence Pendziwiatr, 71, died Thursday, September 7, 2017, at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. A native of Buffalo, NY, he was born November 23, 1945, the son of the late John Gregory and Helen Kielaszek Pendziwiatr.

After graduation from Seneca High School in Buffalo, he served in the United States Air Force. He was a saw operator for Pallet Resource, Inc., and also employed with Wal-Mart. He attended North Lexington Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Penny Lee Saunier Pendziwiatr; two sons, Gregory Pendziwiatr, Jr. of NY and Lawrence Conley (Laurie) of KY; three daughters: Hope Johnson (Matthew) of OH, Becky Staley (Justin) of Fayetteville, NC, and Deborah Hodges of NY; his step-children: Angel Petitt of NC, Mitchell Girard (Erica) and Melissa Strimbu, both of OH; one brother, Jack Pendziwiatr (Susan) of NY; three sisters: Deloris Pezzimenti, Joanie Forgie and Lucille Kimidowski, all of NY; plus several grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Pendziwiatr, and a sister, Jane Gnias.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 6:00 PM Friday, September 15, in the chapel of Davie Burial & Cremation Service of Lexington with Pastor Robert Floyd officiating. The body will lie in state in the funeral chapel beginning at 10:00 AM Friday. Visitation with family will be one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to help offset final expenses are requested to be made to Davie Burial & Cremation Service of Lexington.
